Keep it Simple
Bear with me.
We have a lot of work to do if we truly intend to salvage the subject of Scientology to the degree that it becomes truly indispensable to mankind as a solution to the war and criminality that plagues this area of the universe.
We must keep it simple.
Axiom 56 – Theta brings order to chaos
The re-evaluation of the subject may have to go right down to the axioms themselves, for if they were truly correct, covered all bases and ran in the right direction, we would have it made. And we don’t.
Meanwhile we need a stable datum. One with which to align the re-evaluation of the subject so that it does not go astray.
Axiom 53 – A Stable Datum is necessary to the alignment of data
Someone promised that Scientology is by nature, “self-correcting.” Maybe in the hands of truly intelligent, ethical beings, it is. After all, those of us leading this salvage project are doing so because of the value we did get from it. So in a sense, it just might be that (“self-correcting”). But unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to be that way for far too many people who are disappointed in “lack of results” – at least in certain key areas of advanced spiritual abilities promised and never delivered, let alone some ordinary living abilities associated with successful living.
Scientology must have such a powerful stable datum as to become and remain, truly “self-correcting.” Only then can we even begin to think of it as “delivering what is promised.”
A stable datum aligns a confusion.
The genius of Scientology is that it pulled wisdom of ages past on this planet, into the practical realm where it could be accessed and applied by the common person. It distilled this wisdom from a “sea of data.” The early years of the development of the subject found an incredible concentration of wisdom made understandable to the ordinary literate person, in its books, axioms and lectures.
For the ordinary individual however – even for the amazingly talented artist or Scientologist who has to balance personal production with personal enhancement, the body of Scientology research as a whole, now qualifies as a “sea of data” all in itself!
Axiom 56 (COROLLARY) – Chaos brings disorder to theta
So if we are going to have a truly workable subject, it has to be accessible and usable. Much the same criteria as L. Ron Hubbard, its founder, must have used as he encountered the knowledge extant in the libraries, including the Library of Congress (where no doubt, could be found, a copy of Scientologie, complete with axioms!) He told us, did he not? – that he was looking for workable knowledge for life and living.
Even many of the most disappointed students of the subject of Scientology would agree that there is valuable data presented at least here and there, in the writings and lectures we have making up the subject.
We have a couple of choices here, as I see it. We can “dumb it down” (see the Scientology Handbook – although I am not criticizing it too badly, I hope – it is quite a valuable and usable tool) with the full knowledge that “simple” is “good.” We should do that!
We can also pick and choose which data goes forward in a new package and which does not. We can even identify the so-called “booby traps” or destructive elements of the subject and dispense with them totally – label them with warnings(!) You know? – like how and why a 16-yr-old at Flag uses “Handling the Public Individual” to justify wasting your time and money – practically insuring you won’t get what you came for!
Enough said. We need to keep it simple. We need to keep it straight. And we need a criteria to evaluate the vast collection of data from the 40 years of data evaluation invested in the subject.
Axiom 54 – A tolerance of confusion and an agreed-upon Stable Datum on which to align the data in a confusion are at once necessary for a sane reaction on the eight dynamics. This defines sanity.
Not required, but it would be nice to have the ordinary ‘fanatic’ (like me!) Scientologist on board with us. In other words, such a datum should if possible, not offend the sensibility of the typical, ordinary Scientologist who has grown for whatever reason, to appreciate the value of the subject – even to the extent that it has become an “article of faith.”
It might be nice if such a datum aligned then, with the controversial, but sacredly held text known as “Keeping Scientology Working.” What are we allowed by the founder to do with the subject he claimed to be full source over? What about this line here from that very policy letter, KSW#1?
“There remains of course, group tabulation or coordination of what has been done, which will be valuable — only so long as it does not seek to alter basic principles or successful applications.”
Again, we need to keep it simple. We need to keep it straight. And we need a criteria to evaluate the vast collection of data from the 40 years of data evaluation invested in the subject.
That would make such a datum the most important datum in all Scientology. And could potentially salvage the subject for future generations.
How about this one?
You tell me. Is this it?
(…Q means the top level from which we are now working, the highest echelon from which all other things are derived.)
*Q 1 – SELF-DETERMINISM IS THE COMMON DENOMINATOR OF ALL LIFE IMPULSES.*
Q 2 – THETA CREATES SPACE, ENERGY AND OBJECTS BY POSTULATES.
Q 3 – UNIVERSES ARE CREATED BY THE APPLICATION OF SELF-DETERMINISM ON EIGHT DYNAMICS.
Q 4 – SELF-DETERMINISM, APPLIED, WILL CREATE, ALTER, CONSERVE AND POSSIBLY DESTROY UNIVERSES.
(*see any version of “Scientology 0-8 Book of Basics” for further definitions and background)
The key question for you here is, “How much of what you experienced in Scientology has been completely oriented to the optimum attainment of full self-determinism for you as a being, along your eight dynamics?”
“What was substituted for “self-determinism?” “When?”
Now do you see where we are headed?
